We are thrilled to announce the recent publication for Phase 2 of our COVID-19 wearable study in Nature Medicine.

With the recent emergence of Omicron, it is more important than ever to continue discovering ways to detect abnormal physiological events, such as COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses. Why is this publication important?

  1. This is the 1st large-scale, real-time monitoring and alerting system for detecting abnormal physiological changes, including COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses, using smartwatch data.
  2. Our algorithms detected 80% of COVID-19 illnesses at or prior to symptom onset.
  3. Our platform is available to iOS and Android users and can be utilized by a variety of smartwatch users.

With the ability to scale worldwide, there exists great potential to help individuals across the globe and use these findings to improve healthcare.

We are incredibly grateful to those who participated in our study or helped raise awareness. Without your support and participation, our research would not be possible.

We are continuing to recruit participants for the COVID-19 wearable study. If you have a smartwatch or know someone who may be interested in participating, we encourage you to share our study. If you are interested in supporting our work, please reach out to innovationlab@stanford.edu.
